It's finally here: the non-mandatory
preseason workouts for boys lacrosse.
Coach Garrison recently met with AD Kevin Hinson and has been
advised me that the Sabre boys can practice on the football practice field (behind the bus parking lot) at South Meck Mondays
through Thursdays from 6:30 to 7:45 (or whenever it gets dark). We cannot take the field, however, until the football team
is done with its practice. This is a VERY IMPORTANT rule to follow, or we will lose this opportunity.
Mondays and Wednesdays will be for Middie/Attack and Tuesdays and Thursdays for Defense. We will do this for a couple of weeks
and then have the Defense with the Offense on the same day to do some work together. Practices will begin on Monday, Sept.
21.
Please e-mail Coach Garrison with which days work best for your son and the position he plays.
Also, before your son can come out and participate in these practices, he must have a copy of a current physical. If you think
it is still good from last year, please let Coach Garrison know and he will check with Mr. Hinson to see if it is on file.
If you did not play a sport at South last year, you most likely will need to get a new physical.
Regarding
the workouts, it may be a good idea to get to the field early as some days the football team may end its practice early. If
they are there early and football is still going on players cannot be on the field having
a catch. If they are on the field during football practices, we will not be allowed to use the fields. Please call or e-mail
Coach Garrison with any questions at 704-604-5831 and Justin.Garrison@cbre.com.
