Stricker continuing to impress in the net for Sabres
Sophomore goaltender Grayson Stricker, who's in his first year as a lacrosse netminder, continued his fine work Tuesday at home in a 11-1 loss to Marvin Ridge, besting his season-high 16 saves March 28 against Butler with a school-record 25 stops versus the Mavericks. The 6-foot redhead is quickly becoming one of the top goalies in Mecklenburg County.

Girls give Latin tough fight before dropping 12-7 decision
The South Meck girls played perhaps their best game of the season late Wednesday afternoon at Fred Boger Stadium, losing 12-7 to a very good Charlotte Latin team that improved its record to 3-3. Jackie Haenlein scored three goals to lead the Lady Sabres, while Cherilyn Hallyburton added two and Rebecca Davis and Anneke Dikkers had one each. Mary Alice Creasy and Anne Louise Seaton scored four goals apiece to lead Latin. South next plays Myers Park at home today at 5 p.m., leading off a doubleheader that will also include the Sabre boys hosting state power Charlotte Catholic at 7 p.m.
